Considerations in Socks Production
One of the most important situations in the production of
socks is the sewing of the very end of the socks. Known as “Rosso
Stitch” in the industry, this stitching system is actually the micro type
of overlock stitch. It is widely used because of its rapid production. The
Single Row Stitching system, known as Seamless, is the same system as the
Stinger machine used in the Knitwear industry. While joining the ends of the
seamless socks, the loops of each sock are threaded into the needles one by one
by human hands.
Of course, the most important issue in production from
machine power is human power. When it comes to sewing that machines cannot do,
manpower comes into play. Today, machines can do anything, yes we agree on
that. But the first sample of socks is always the most difficult part of the
job. Of course, the machines make the socks sample. The machine starts knitting
from the rubber part of the sock and finishes the knitting process in the part
corresponding to the toes. While the machine is taking out the socks sample,
the person who will operate the machine connects all the colored threads to the
machine. Afterwards, it tries to ensure that the pattern can be formed
properly. And it tries to prevent the pattern yarns from stretching towards the
inner parts of the socks and not being tied together. These trials take a long
time. During these trials, the dimensions of the socks are checked. The stretch
of the socks is also checked. Finally, three pairs of socks are optionally
removed from each design.
There are some things to watch out for in this way. Even if
the machine does a flawless job, there are always minor problems. An audit is
performed at the end of all transactions. And in this inspection, it is determined
whether there is an any error in the socks. If there is, the process is
repeated. If manpower is needed while the processes are being repeated, this is
done immediately. Until you get the perfect result.
